Ayale Travel – Sri Lanka

Welcome to Ayale Travel. By booking a tour or using our services, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Booking and Payment

  • Reservation: A booking is only considered "confirmed" once we have issued a written confirmation and received the required deposit.
  • Deposit: A deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking to secure hotels and transport.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid two weeks prior to the tour start date or in cash (USD/LKR) upon arrival, as per the specific agreement made during booking.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that plans change. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • 60+ days before arrival: Full refund (minus administrative/bank fees).
  • 30–59 days before arrival: [e.g., 50%] of the total tour cost is non-refundable.
  • Less than 30 days before arrival: 100% of the total tour cost is non-refundable.
  • No-shows: No refunds will be provided for no-shows or early departures from a tour.

3. Changes to Itineraries

Sri Lanka is a dynamic tropical island. Ayale Travel reserves the right to modify itineraries due to:

  • Weather conditions (e.g., heavy monsoon rain).
  • Unforeseen road closures or strikes.
  • Availability of specific attractions or wildlife sightings (e.g., Leopard sightings in Yala are not guaranteed).

We will always provide a comparable alternative if a change is necessary.

4. Traveler Responsibilities

  • Insurance: It is a mandatory condition of booking that all travelers have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, personal accident, and trip cancellation.
  • Visas: Travelers are responsible for obtaining their own Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via the official Sri Lankan government portal.
  • Health & Fitness: Travelers must notify us of any physical disabilities or medical conditions that may affect their ability to participate in certain activities (e.g., climbing mountains).

5. Liability Waiver

  • Ayale Travel acts as an intermediary between travelers and third-party service providers (hotels, parks, airlines). We are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or delay caused by these third parties.
  • We are not responsible for "Acts of God" (natural disasters) or political instability.
  • Participation in activities like snorkeling with turtles at Polhena or hiking is at the traveler’s own risk.

6. Code of Conduct

We pride ourselves on sustainable tourism. We expect our guests to:

  • Respect Sri Lankan culture and dress modestly at religious sites (shoulders and knees covered).
  • Follow "No Trace" principles (no littering, no feeding wildlife).
  • Refrain from any illegal activity as per the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be settled within the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
