Abhayagiriya Dagoba & Vihara

Abhayagiriya was one of the largest Buddhist monastic complexes of ancient Sri Lanka, founded in the 1st century BCE. Its massive dagoba (stupa) once reached over 100 m, with ruins now standing around 75 m tall. The expansive site includes ancient ruins, moonstones, guardstones, ponds, and walking paths, giving visitors a deep sense of the scale and importance of this former monastery.
